U.S. stocks dropped over Monday trading session as Wall Street indices ended the first trading day of the week lower.
🇺🇸 Nasdaq ended the day plunged -290.07 points or -1.79% lower to 15,885.02. While 🇺🇸 Dow 30 closed lower and down by -248.13 points or -0.65% to 37,735.11 and 🇺🇸 S&P 500 dropped -61.59 points or -1.2% lower to 5,061.82.
Investors seem wary as they continue to digest recent economic data of 🇺🇸 U.S. Monthly Retail Trade (1-mth) in March dropped to 0.7% compared to previous figure 0.9, revised from 0.6% in February according to Census Bureau.
In the upcoming event, we may expect high volatility ahead of Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell speech to be released at 1:15pm on Tuesday (New York Time).
What happened lately
– 🇺🇸 U.S. New York Empire State Manufacturing Index in April improved to -14.3 points compared to previous figure -20.9 points in March.
– 🇺🇸 U.S. Monthly Retail Trade (1-mth) in March dropped to 0.7% compared to previous figure 0.9, revised from 0.6% in February.

Top two gainers in the last trading session include Encore Wire Corporation (WIRE) as the stock surged 11.59% to 291.23 while Hagerty Inc (HGTY) added 5.81% to 8.93.
Losers include Biohaven Pharmaceutical Holding Co Ltd (BHVN), erasing -15.66% from its share price to 44.77 and MicroStrategy Incorporated (MSTR) dropped -9.71% to 1335.88.
Elsewhere, most active counters were Tesla Inc (TSLA), Rivian Automotive Inc (RIVN) and Apple Inc (AAPL).
